As the daughter of a US Veteran (her Father) and a highly decorated Activist & Advocate (her Mother) Tammy grew up being passionate about social issues. Throughout the course of her career, she incorporated spreading awareness on social issues through her theater, writing, and film work.
Tammy defines what a multimedia creative artist is. She has Produced, Written, and Directed short films, tv, and commercials. Also, she's hosted events, film premieres, radio & tv shows, and interviewed a variety of celebrities & influencers.
Some notable interviews include but are not limited to Meagan Good-Franklin, Leon, Carmen Electra, Giancarlo Esposito, Slim & Mike from R&B Group 112, Tony Todd, Siobhan Fallon Hogan, Claudia Wells, John Kassir, Aleks Paunovic, Taimak Guarriello, Terry Kiser, and Stormy Wellington.
Graduating from Empire State College in 2008, she majored in media studies gaining experience and accomplishments in journalism, TV, film, blogging, and radio production while minoring in theater /culture.
Tammy's career started at age 12 with The Media Unit TV and Stage production company traveling and performing in over 60 live stage shows a year, Technical Directing or Hosting a public access TV program, “Rough Times Live.”
In Tammy's 8 years with the company, her talents excelled as an Actress, Choreographer, Dancer, Writer, TV Host, and Director. Hosting and Directing a live TV show made Tammy ready for anything such as serving on The Media Unit Board of Directors.
Since her days with the Media Unit, she has branched into an independent artist. Performing (Ensemble, Les Style, Stepp Sister) in “Dreamgirls” musical at The Redhouse Arts Center in 2015. The production received a Syracuse Area Live Theater nomination for Best Musical and Best Ensemble. Other appearances at The Redhouse include “The Color Purple” (Ensemble) and “Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens,” (Sally).
The theatrical performance was her first love in the industry. Eventually, Tammy embraced video and film production, writing and producing PSAs on suicide prevention "Hear My Call", which she received a writing award and a domestic violence PSA "Live To Tell". Other social justice and awareness topics Tammy has written/directed videos include topics of racism, bullying, and HIV/AIDS.
Her passion is acting but being multitalented continues to enhance her skills and present a variety of opportunities in the industry. Shows Tammy has Hosted and Produced along with industry professional and celebrity interviews can be viewed on the VisionaryMindsTV YouTube channel.
Tammy's latest endeavors included being a guest speaker at the CNY ADA Celebration Hosted by Hall Of Fame Journalist Jackie Robinson. Tammy Reese walked the runway in Essence Magazine Street Style Fashion Show 2018. Currently Journalist for Vocal Media. In 2019 she was a Partnership Associate for NYC Hip Hop Film Festival, Commerical Producer for Syracuse Community Connections, Publicist for the Harriet Tubman Freedom Music Festival, Independent Filmmakers Day, and the NorthEast Filmmakers Lab with many other clients throughout the United States.
Tammy covered the Tribeca Film Festival 2019 as press.
"Betrayal" is a short film written, Co-Directed, Co-Produced by Tammy in collaboration with All Grown Up ENT and Dibernardo Productions which was selected on Filmfreeway by First Time Filmmaker Sessions.
